Our Community

As TrueNorth's West Des Moines office prepared to relocate, Youth Emergency Services & Shelter (YESS) was one of the first people they called. With a mission to change lives by protecting children and empowering families, YESS serves and protects Central Iowa youth with nowhere else to turn.

During the months of January and February, TrueNorth will be raising funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cedar Rapids & East Central Iowa. This organization allows for one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

Last April, TrueNorth raised funds for the Can'd Aid Foundation, a national nonprofit, people-powered organization that makes a difference from coast to coast! Here is an update on our efforts!

During the months of November and December, TrueNorth will be raising funds for Olivet Neighborhood Mission. They provide families and individuals with basic needs including food, clothing and household items.

During the month of September, TrueNorth will be raising funds for Sleep in Heavenly Peace. They are a volunteer organization that is dedicated to building, assembling and delivering bunk beds to children and families in need.

During the month of August, TrueNorth will be raising funds for Kids First. They provide focused legal representation and other services to kids to give them a voice in divorce and custody conflicts.

During the month of July, TrueNorth will be raising funds for Cedar Rapids Police Protective Charity. They provide financial assistance and coordinate events that directly affect youth in the Cedar Rapids community.

During the month of June, TrueNorth will be raising funds for Hercules' Haven.

During the month of May, TrueNorth will be raising funds for the Central Iowa Shelter & Services (CISS) as well as YSS.

Teri Copler, TrueNorth Employee Benefits Specialist and Ely resident received a Governor's Volunteer Award from Governor Kim Reynolds and Lieutenant Governor Adam Gregg during a special recognition ceremony held July 30 in Marion, Iowa.
